Killowen Rides Car Rental Hiring Policy
1. Eligibility and Driver Requirements
Renters must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license from their country of residence or an International Driving Permit.
Drivers under 25 may be subject to additional fees or restrictions.
Additional drivers must be registered and approved by Killowen Rides, with applicable fees.
2. Booking and Payment
Full payment is required prior to vehicle handover.
A security deposit will be held on the renter’s credit card to cover potential damages or additional charges.
Payment methods accepted include major credit/debit cards; cash payments may be subject to prior arrangement.
3. Rental Period and Vehicle Return
The rental period begins at the agreed pickup date and time and ends upon vehicle return at the specified location.
Vehicles must be returned on time to avoid late return fees, which are charged hourly or daily.
Early returns may incur fees or forfeiture of prepaid rental days.
A grace period of up to 30 minutes may be allowed, after which late fees apply.
4. Vehicle Condition and Inspection
Vehicles are provided in clean, roadworthy condition with a full fuel tank (full-to-full fuel policy).
Renters must inspect the vehicle at pickup and report any existing damage.
Upon return, the vehicle will be inspected for damage, cleanliness, and fuel level.
Damage beyond normal wear and tear will be charged to the renter.
5. Mileage and Usage
Mileage allowance and any excess mileage fees will be specified in the rental agreement.
Use of the vehicle outside Kenya or in prohibited areas is not allowed without prior approval and may incur additional fees.
6. Insurance and Liability
Basic insurance coverage including Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Third-Party Liability is included.
Renters are responsible for deductibles and any damage not covered by insurance, such as tires, windshield, and undercarriage.
Optional insurance upgrades, such as Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) and Personal Accident Insurance (PAI), are available for purchase.
Accidents or damages must be reported immediately to Killowen Rides and local authorities.
7. Fuel Policy
Vehicles are rented with a full tank and must be returned full.
Refueling service charges apply if the vehicle is returned with less fuel.
8. Additional Charges
Fees may apply for additional drivers, GPS rental, child seats, or other equipment.
Toll charges, parking fines, and traffic violations incurred during the rental are the renter’s responsibility.
Cleaning fees may be charged if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty.
9. Cancellation and Amendments
Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the rental start date receive a percentage refund.
Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a cancellation fee equivalent to one day’s rental.
Changes to booking dates or vehicle types are subject to availability and may incur fees.
10. Customer Responsibilities
Renters must comply with all local traffic laws and regulations.
The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities, racing, or off-road driving unless specifically authorized.
Smoking in the vehicle is prohibited.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes regarding charges or vehicle condition should be reported promptly to Killowen Rides customer service for resolution.
